Consider it like a blueprint. Designing new Schematics gives you the right to patent it and then start building Structs based on it.
Try choosing less Ambits and/or Features. Combining goals in a single schematic can make it more powerful but also makes it more difficult to accomplish.
A Struct can only builds Schematics with at least one overlapping Ambit. As an example, The Genesis Library is only a Land structure and can only build schematics with the Land Ambit.
